I'm sure by now most of us have seen the documentary on Nirbhay... aka India's Daughter. . or will eventually will see it ,before it is completely banned. 

I don't know about you,but for me , mixed plethora of emotions came pouring out..a churning of anger , hatred, helplessness,frustration, sadness....

I felt ashamed and disgusted, that although an expat of 20 yrs ..my roots are Indian .. yet I feel unhappy to say I am Indian..I was born and raised in India.. luckily grew up very well sheltered & protected in an affluent family...but still even then, as a girl I still remember the uneasiness of the stares..or uncomfortable looks ..the need to be home at a certain time..just to be safe..

Here we are, a nation who boasts of success. .who produces the best doctors, scientists, engineers...have been told that India is a country to reckon with...   Alas !.. but No ! ....this country I think is still failing.....a country which cannot keep their women...mothers, wives , sisters or daughters safe ..shame!..what a shame. .I don't think..this is progress at all ..It is a failure..a failure to mankind ..

I've aged, I've become kinder to, and less critical of, myself. I've become my own friend.

I have seen too many dear friends leave this world, too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.

Whose business is it if I choose to read, or play on the computer until 4 AM? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60s & 70s, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love, I will.

I will walk the beach, in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves, with abandon, if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set. They, too, will get old.

I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And, eventually, we remember the important things.

Sure, over the years, my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break, when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength, and understanding, and compassion. A heart never broken, is pristine, and sterile, and will never know the joy of being imperfect.

I am so blessed to have lived enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and too many have died before their hair could turn silver.

As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore. I've even earned the right to be wrong.

So, to answer your question, I like being older. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be.
And I shall eat dessert every single day (if I feel like it). .....

Most of the times leading to confused state of minds ,heartbreak and emotional..  Especially in countries like india where anyways to talk about things like these is a taboo...Even though our society is hesitant to talk about it ..but child abuse is a grave issue !

BUT what to do ? How to educate people ?.....Well , finally there is a video that is brilliantly done... this video talks about not only the Issue but it also suggests some solution

Everyone has experienced it at one point of time in their life ..Whether you agree to accept it or not ...you have gone through those quick pangs ! But what defines you is how you deal with it .... 

A prettier person, a smarter person who everyone admires, A friend who started a small group which grew into a phenomenon,  an artist  friend who started at home and grew to be at par with the art degree holders, A friend who came from very humble beginnings but turned into this successful entrepreneur, A friend who started selling at home and has multiple stores  !!! does that sound familiar ??  Oh yes it does ! Don't deny it ...  But Let me assure you the thoughts of how, when, where are only natural ..Its when they change into why or anger or spite or is whats wrong. One needs to be open minded , one needs to understand that the success or achievements come with hard work persistence..determination along with sacrifices.You probably have no idea as to what personal battles that most seemingly successful person might have faced . Don't be quick to judge or dismiss whatever fields ..Just because it  their field or expertise is unconventional .. ...Remember every single person in this world is trying ..trying hard in their own little way...If you are content with whatever you have in life, its great. but don't judge anyone who want's to do more..If you have a dream and you haven't started yet do it.. 

Be open to change ..be open , be accepting ,a life be healthy, get don't let anyones efforts discourage  you and push you down the jealousy lane... Let others inspire you and you inspire others...

 Yes, got featured in OK middle East ..  A bit sheepish but feels cool.Went to Spin last weekend ..Levis had organised a desi nite.Overall the music was good ,so was the ambiance.I would give it 3 stars *. A must stop for Ping Pong Enthusiasts and gamers.

No one ...I repeat no one has had the privilege of being never at a point where one thinks of letting go or giving up..We all go through it ..We all have our struggles, our personal battles..For those of you who know me well are aware of the fact that in the past 6 months I have had my share of personal battles. With my health ...My relationships...In that period I have gone through a plethora of emotions ..fear,anger, frustration, an overwhelming feeling of helplessness..  I came to very low points in my life ...I will be brutally honest ..I even thought of just quitting everything that I held dear.. Run away from it all......But somewhere ..just somewhere in deepest corner of my heart ..there was a feeling , an urge ....I knew that I'm a survivor ..I'm a fighter..I just couldn't make myself accept defeat ..I tried and oh ! how hard I tried !... I kept on saying to my self, "I need to try" ..and now  I'm on my upward path, one little little step at a time. I too, decided to never give up... :)
It is strange to hear this story because this is what I coach my friends & my clients when I guide them to deal with life.. Strangely thats a strong 'Aha! Moment !" but this only goes to prove that all of us are the same afterall !! and we all are fighting some battles... just maybe with different Devils !
